What it's all about

Sarah Sangster is a multi-media artist based out of Marin County, CA. She regularly attends art shows around the Bay Area, and works out of her home studio. She needed an overhaul of her entire website - including photography of all her paintings, a logo redesign, and a rebuild of her website.

how we did it

I wore a few hats during this project: graphic designer, project manager, QA, and art director for the photoshoot of all Sarah's paintings. The UX and UI designs were done in Figma and handed off to the developer. Event postings are designed and updated regularly, along with social media postings as needed.

I built out a site map for the five necessary pages - and used Figma to design each page down to the curve of the CTA buttons. Colors and photos were all pulled directly from the brand decisions and real photography to ensure the look and feel would be accurate once the site was truly built. This was handed off to the developer and built exactly as is, I did a few rounds of QA testing, and the final result can be viewed at sarahsangsterart.com.

The order of the paintings were intentionally selected as well to ensure the site itself acted as an extension of the artist's work.

The paintings were staged by me in the area around the artist's home (fun fact: I'm hunched behind the effervescence painting on the hillside below!) The colors that the artists uses are so drawn from her natural surroundings, that the staging of the paintings within the backdrop worked effortlessly.
